On Saturday, January 16, 2010 at 8:40 p.m. officers of the Forest City Police Department responded to 260 Washington Street in Forest City to investigate a shooting incident. When officers arrived they found Ricky Lamar Miller a 35 year old black male with a single gunshot wound to his abdomen. Miller was taken to Cleveland Regional where he underwent surgery on Saturday night; he was listed as being in critical condition. Miller was taken back to surgery on Sunday and remains in the Intensive Care Unit in critical condition. The Forest City Police Department continues to investigate this incident and ask if anyone has information about the shooting to please call Lt. Chris Lovelace at the Forest City Police Department at (828) 248-5233.

Incidents

 

*Ricky Miller, age 35, of Washington Street  in Forest City reported an incident of assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury with intent to kill.


*An employee from Hibbett Sports reported an incident of shoplifting/concealment. (See arrest of Lattimore)


*An employee of Murphy USA reported an incident of larceny of motor fuel.


*An employee of Food Lion reported an incident of larceny.


*William Albert, of Reid Street in Forest City,  reported an incident of a dog bite.


*Michele Keever, of Rock Corner Road in Forest City, reported an incident of larceny from a person. The incident occurred at Wal-Mart.


 

Arrests

 

*Paul Hampton, age 46, of Wilkins Street in Forest City was arrested on a warrant for probation violation. He received a $5,000.00 secured bond.


*Pamela Jones, age 47, of Florence Street in Forest City was arrested on a warrant for simple assault. She received a $500.00 unsecured bond.


*Robert Reid, age 40, of Yarboro Street in Forest City was arrested on warrants for three counts of breaking and entering and three counts of larceny. He received a $105,000.00 secured bond.


*Jermaine Lattimore, age 31, of Ridgeway Court in Forest City was arrested for shoplifting/concealment. He received a $100.00 secured bond.


*Candace Toney, age 25, of Springfield Drive in Forest City was served with a criminal summons for failure to pay monies. She received a written promise to appear.


*Jordan Walker, age 20, of Birch Train in Forest City was served with a criminal summons for simple worthless check. She received a written promise to appear.


*Joshua Talon, age 19, of Lakeview Drive in Landrum, SC was arrested on two warrants for obtain property by false pretense. He received a $40,000.00 secured bond.
